Members of the team met with the resident owners at 4pm., took some baseline daylight photos and interviewed witnesses to the activity. While one owner and three investigators went out to examine the Indian Mound site two others stayed behind to get the history of activity that had been occurring. Baseline temps readings were taken at 8pm. with the living room at 68dg, bedrooms avg 72dg and the kitchen at 82dg.

BACKGROUND:

While collecting some of the area background, one the investigators had made the comment that this was the trifecta of sites. This indeed turned out to be an understatement. Through interviews with the owners and some historical research, there was a lot of interesting activity that had taken place on this site and in the general area. A Civil War skirmish, the Battle of Bayou Bartholemew had taken place in the meadow below the home, Confederate Gen. Jo Shelby and Union Colonel Clayton Powell were engaged in a one day skirmish including some artillery fire in January 1864. An Indian Mound (known to the owners) and possibly two others according to aerial photos existed on the site. Around March of 1542, Hernando Desoto had also camped and conducted raids about thirteen miles away. All of this in addition to sightings of multiple apparitions and other paranormal occurrences listed below and you have the potential for a lot of interesting findings. The house itself was built in 1958 by the current owner's father.

ACTIVITIES:

Phantom radio heard at different times playing “a woman singing a 30’s-40’s bluesy type song.” There is also “a broadcast of a preacher”. These have been heard 4 or 5 times in the last year during both day and night time. It has been described as sounding like “an old transitor radio”. “Sparkly Lights” have been seen (a cluster of lights) both during the day and night along with a mist in the hallway. A woman, age 19 or 20 has been seen by the well washing clothes 4 or 5 times. He saw her from the kitchen window. Opened the door to see a woman stooped over with her back to him washing clothes. She was caucasion, had a long dress and long sleeves. Last seen about 2 weeks ago prior to this investigation. Clothes from the 1800’s. Farm hand type. Has only seen her from the front one time. Has seen her in profile or with her back to him. Hair was tied loose, but up away from face. Dark blonde or light brown hair. She looked toward the house, but not at him. He has seen men going through the field. He sees the mist in the hallway a lot. About a weekly thing.

Notes: There was also a rumor of a graveyard about 100 yards from the home itself. There was also cotton farming with the use of slaves.
