Research and EVP Information

Main Investigation Summary

From compiling the EVPs from five different recorders and putting the fragments of information together we are hoping there is enough obscure but verifiable information that will lead to the validation of this material. Many of the questions were asked multiple times and in different locations throughout the armory.
Quite a few EVPs were captured that answered historical questions correctly.

David Dodd info from EVPs

Mary Dodge wasn’t the one being protected.
Another protection question “It was Mary Swindler, she’s a liar”
He was kept in the basement of the armory.
“In the dark basement, don’t see nothin I could see no one”
During one version of the protection question... a mention of a man that owned a bank
and a black suit was mentioned. They were to meet in some woods or a village.
During his capture he was hurt and couldn’t stand straight for a week. He was not
allowed family visitors but a preacher? visited and gave him medicine?

On the way to his hanging the remark it was like a circus was made along with the comment they threw snowballs at me. Also indicated a request was made to walk in the free air instead of riding in the wagon. Comment from woman about hanging error “laid him on the grass, he had suffered long”

Duel in the Basement info from EVPs

The duel occurred by the steps in the basement. It involved “pig stickers” aka knives.
“Nathan was insanely jealous” heard in a woman’s voice.
Also heard “he insulted me”, “best man he could pick them”
The name Jason Willisworth (could also be Nathan they sound close) One sounds like “he
earned it, he drove him to it”
I had to kiss his girlfriend? Bill was insane rather hot headed, he had a gun hid, he was
jealous

Tower and Armory related per EVPs

Tower portion was used as the servant’s quarters at some point. Type of materials stored in the armory black power and mortars. Comment was “type of powder you can’t get wet” Asked about armaments “Facing the museum, used to be a cannon in back of it, back during its heyday”

Lady in White on Stairs

Got the name Hannah/LuAnn? Sheppard on one recording On another “Yesum, she’s a Negro servant, live in, lived here, Hannah/LuAnn? Sheppard, we have been seen before”

Piano Music related

“play for Julia’s husband Robert”, “ they took away the piano I knew the lady’s husband they stayed here they worked hard then male speaks I knew Vance's daddy helped him to (write his play?) then hear name in the background Ben Willison - ???? then female again he could really sing O liberty he used to bring me roses I used to play him music all the time.

Séance in 1985

Asked what they who there were trying to contact “David Dodd”

Asked about why they were still there got an odd comment “Guests were stealing in the magic room”

Genealogy Info

There were three young woman who were associated with David Dodd just prior to his capture as a spy. Mary Dodge and her father were taken by Union Gunboat before the trial back to Vermont. The question of just whom David was protecting has been a long standing mystery. We attempted to research those involved to locate descendants and possibly more information that might help solve the mystery.
