Below you will find photos and activity information from the Feb. 2010 Allen House investigation.

The first photo is what we believe to be Mrs. Caddye Allen's room, the adjoining we believe to have been occupied by Ladelle Allen Bonner as she was caring for her mother. Below the bedroom picture is one of a collection of keys for the many doors in Allen House and a photo of Mrs. Caddye Allen.

The photo below is of a sitting area containing an old hand cranked Victrola record player. While this is not the original player owned by the Allens it is the one the came on by itself and kept turning faster as witnessed by Mrs. Spencer. See the EVP page for related EVPs that show who was actually playing with it.

This photo below is of a desk located in the attic of the home. It belonged to Allen Bonner, the son of Ladelle Allen Bonner. On it is painted "Ye olde Village Half Wits" along with the members. The attic was used as a study/play area by the Allen children. See the EVP page for related questions asked regarding this particular desk and some of his humorous endeavors. There is also a link to an unexplained photo on the main page that was taken in the attic. Allen Bonner, who followed a journalism career was noted for his humor both personally and in his writings.

In the photo below you can see the death certificate for Ladelle Allen Bonner who committed suicide by drinking mercury cyanide on December 25, 1948. Ladelle had quite a share of tragedies and losses in her life and there is still speculation as to the final determining factor that drove her to this choice.

The first EVP collection session was conducted in the Dining room which has a very unique decorative tin ceiling. The room was also used during funerals for the members of the Allen family as a viewing area we believe. We asked questions about the ceiling in particular. The biggest surprise was our K2 meter going off as soon as we started directing questions to Mrs. Caddye Allen. See the link on the main page for a short video of the meter during this session.

The clips below were taken from old newspapers we found while researching at the History Commission. They reference Mr. Allen's livery stable and the Allen Hotel.
