Always scouting out new spots and just as an experiment two of our investigators decided to try a daytime EVP gathering session at this nearby version of a “Cry Baby Bridge”.

BACKGROUND

Momma Lou Bridge is an example of a common Urban Legend referred to as a “Cry Baby Bridge”. Multiple examples of these are found in all states and around many communities. Located in Scott, Arkansas this was originally a wooden bridge then later in 1921 the Wolf Bayou Bridge was built below. The bridge picture above is its replacement built in 2005.

Legend has it that a woman and her new born baby drove off this bridge and died. Purportedly if you go there at night, park and say "Mama Lou I've got your baby" strange things occur i.e. accident sounds, car won’t start, etc. Some postings regarding it have also mentioned you can also see a woman in white floating in the field near the bridge. Most urban legends like these revolve around the death of a baby or young children killed around the bridge via accident or murder. Apparently this particular urban legend goes back many years to the time when it was still a wooden bridge.
