	Our team was invited to investigate paranormal occurrences at the Prosperity School Bed and Breakfast. The photo above is from the investigation conducted October 14 through October 15, 2005. From 1902 until 1917, the area around Joplin, Missouri, was a booming mining territory. Built in 1907, Prosperity School housed four large classrooms, as well as space for a stage and auditorium. As mining slowed down, the number of students dwindled leading to the school’s closing in 1962. The school building lay vacant until it was sold in 1994 and converted into a bed and breakfast. The current owners, Richard and Janet, related a number of events including sightings of apparitions by guests and orbs captured on guest photos. Due to it’s "slightly off the beaten path" location and the graciousness of the owners, we were able to investigate all areas of the building. During our stay, after going to bed following each night’s investigation, several investigators reported what seemed to be a light patting of their feet during the middle of the night. Psychics picked up energy at the top of the stairway at the same time Gauss meters showed spikes. Dowsing rods moved giving “yes” or “no” answers to questions while video tape revealed orbs in the area. Camcorder footage revealed orbs, which responded to investigator’s comments and questions. Photos taken with digital cameras showed orbs in various areas inside and outside the building. One psychic was awakened by a little girl with blonde curls standing beside the bed. The little girl said that she did not like the sounds one of the investigators was making while asleep. The psychic explained that the investigator was asleep and was snoring. The little girl said “Oh! That’s what that is!”, and faded away. One of the investigators could not rest well in his room. A talking board revealed a female spirit of a small girl in that room. Besides providing an extremely comfortable stay, the owners were wonderfully accommodating when it came to providing access, information and any type of support the team needed. The atmosphere was such that members would have loved to stay longer just to enjoy it, aside from the investigation. We would like to thank Richard and Janet for the experience and for putting up with our "invading army" of members.
